The Green School
Creative Sprouts began in the fall of 2009 by two motivated teachers- Mrs. AnneMarie and Mrs. Andrea. We took our experience and education in Early Childhood Education and started a small, in home program for young children. Over the first two years, the program grew and required a bigger space. The school (and Miss AnneMarie's family) moved to a larger house close to Juanita Beach.
Over the first three years in business, we experimented with offering different types of programs- part time preschool, full time preschool and drop-in care. We ultimately found that what families needed most was full time hours with a preschool program integrated in. This is what we created and the program grew again.
At the beginning of 2012, we began looking for a commercial space to move the school. We searched and searched, but could not find anything that would work. There was one spot we had our eyes on for over a year and one day in June of 2012, a little blue building in Juanita was empty. We moved quickly and were able to secure the space and complete an extensive remodel to transform the warehouse and office space into a school. We moved in to the new location over a weekend with the help of family, friends and Creative Sprouts families. The program quadrupled in size over night, adding three new classrooms and many new families and teachers.
Our school has truly been a labor of love, sweat and tears. There have been so many people who have donated their time and skills to help us paint, assemble furniture, spread bark & gravel, clean, build fences and garden beds, rake leaves, and did we say paint? So. Much. Painting. We also received generous donations of supplies, toys, furniture and financial support. We are blessed beyond words and the gratitude we feel will never be enough to thank everyone for the love and support that they have given us.
We are so grateful to be doing what we do. We know that the program we have created is changing and enriching the lives of our students, families and teachers (and us) and we LOVE that. Thank you for joining us on our journey and being part of our Creative Sprouts family.
In Friendship,
