Pre-Kindergarten: Ages 4-5

Student/Teacher Ratio 6:1

In this class, we teach the kids everything they need to know to be ready for Kindergarten academically and socially in an age appropriate way.  We have created an environment that focuses largely on teaching the children decision making skills not only in independent situations, but with their peers. We have a good balance of teacher directed and child directed activities and spend a lot of time outdoors in our garden!  Our Zoo-Phonics curriculum introduces beginning reading skills/phonics to the children through songs, finger plays and small group activities. We emphasize science, music, math, foreign languages, dramatic play, number and letter recognition, art, daily small and gross motor activity, writing, reading and story dictation.  We take a hands on approach to this curriculum by teaching through games, songs, and activities that keep the interest of the children. At Creative Sprouts, our students learn to love school and look forward to coming. Our program allows children to learn how to positively interact with each other in a stimulating, enriching, very social environment. Children leaving our program are academically prepared for Kindergarten AND they have the social tools to work through conflicts with their peers as well as a strong sense of independence and self-confidence!

I LOVE TEACHING BECAUSE...
"It is rewarding to bring new things in the class and then seeing that "aha" moment when a child finally understands what is being taught."

I LOVE TEACHING BECAUSE...
"I get the opportunity to get to know and be an ally to the amazing children and families in my community."

"I am so happy that we found Creative Sprouts. They really do feel like an extension of family for us. The entire staff is kind, caring and understanding of the real life challenges families deal with every day. Knowing that my kids are in a safe space and learning every day - not just ABCs, but music, Chinese, manners, responsibility... it’s just a great place with wonderful people. I can’t thank them enough for how they’ve made our family feel apart of theirs." -Ritamarie
